Climbing the Stairs!

Algebra Level pending

You see a long staircase infront of you.

At first you climb 10 stairs and then get tired. You still have many steps left to reach the top. After taking some rest, you start climbing twice as many stairs you climbed before taking rest. The number of steps still left to climb to reach the top equals half the number of steps you have climbed till now.

How many stairs were there in the staircase?

The answer is 45.

At first you climb 10 stairs.

Then, you climb twice as many stairs you have climbed, so 20 stairs.

Still half the no. of stairs you have climbed till now is left that is 30/2=15 stairs are left to climb to reach the top.

Therefore total no. of stairs in the staircase =10+20+15=45
