at exactly 3:00 the bell rang 1 times and after 1.5sec (at 3 o'clock and 1.5sec ) the 2nd bell rang and after 1.5sec(at 3 o'clock and 3sec) the 3rd bell rang, so it will take 3sec for a bell to rang 3 times.and at exactly at 5 o'clock the 1st bell rang and after 1.5sec the 2nd bell rang and after another 1.5sec rang the 3rd rang and after another 1.5sec the 4th bell rang and after another 1.5sec the 5th bell rang. and when you add all the seconds the answer will be 6sec

The time between 2 successive rings is 1.5s.

For 5 rings there will be 4 intervals.

So total time taken will be 6s.

The bell rings five times at the seconds 0 then 1,5 then 3 then 4,5 and 6.
