Total time swept by clock = 9hr 15min = 555 min = 33300 seconds ,let the actual minutes swept = x ,so extra seconds swept = 5x/3 ,now we can make a equation:
total seconds swept = actual seconds swept + xtra seconds swept
33300= (60*x) + (5x/3) .............[since actual minutes= x , so actual seconds = 60x]
33300= 185x/3
x= 33300*3/185
x= 540 minutes
so actual minutes swept = 540 minutes, that is, 9 hrs
so actual time = 7:00 am + 9hrs = 4:00 pm :)
