The above figure shows the tetramer of S b F 5 SbF_{5} . Each signal in a F-NMR represents a different chemical environment that fluorine can be placed in.

There exist 3 unique types of environments in the S b F 5 SbF_{5} tetramer :

  • At axial positions (8 of such exist)
  • At equatorial positions (4 of such exist)
  • At bridging positions (4 of such exist)

Therefore the number of signals obtained is 3 \boxed{3}
