If we see, The A F C \triangle AFC \sim A D E \triangle ADE by A A A AAA property.

Now: we know that A C = 12 AC=12

A C A E = F C D E \frac{AC}{AE}=\frac{FC}{DE}

On solving this we get: F C = 9 FC=9

Area= 1 2 A C F C \frac{1}{2}*AC*FC

Area= 1 2 12 9 = 54 \frac{1}{2}*12*9=\boxed{54}

Thank you for your solution.

Fun fact : 12-16-20 is the smallest Pythagoras triplets that gives an integer solution.
