i 1 = 1 i i^{-1} = \frac{1}{i} . Extend with i i gives 1 × i i × i = i 1 = i \frac {1 \times i} {i × i} = \frac {i}{-1} = -i

Remember that a × b \sqrt{a} \times \sqrt{b} is only equal to a × b \sqrt{a \times b} , when a , b a,b is bigger or equal to 0 0 .
