A bodybuilder worked out in the gym for 160 minutes yesterday. He worked out again in the gym for 120 minutes a while ago. Rounded to the nearest integer, what is the total time of his workout in hours?

Total workout time in minutes is 160 + 120 = 280 160+120=280 . We know that in 1 1 hour there are 60 60 minutes, so

280 m i n u t e s ( 1 h o u r 60 m i n u t e s ) = 5 h o u r s 280~minutes\left(\dfrac{1~hour}{60~minutes}\right) = 5~hours

Note that in the conversion above, minutes and minutes cancelled out.

First step is to convert the time of his workout to hours.

First workout: 160 160 minutes = 2.666667 2.666667 hours

Second workout: 120 120 minutes = 2 2 hours

total time of workout = 2.666667 + 2 = 5 = 2.666667 + 2 = 5 hours
