2 identical pans are being used to cook food. The first pan is used to cook food with gas as fuel. The second pan is used to cook food with oil as fuel.

When comparing the bottom of the 2 pans, we can see the bottom of the first pan is less black than that of the second pan. Choose the best answer explaining this phenomenon.

Oil splashes and sticks to the bottom of the pan. The high temperature makes the oil burn itself, therefore creating black spots. Oil burns at higher temperature, so the pan is more oxidized. None of the other answers is correct. Oil needs higher temperature to burn, and burn more incompletely, so more soot is created.
