If in a quadratic equation sum of a,b and c is equal to 0 then its root is 1 . and it is given that it has equal roots so 1+1=2

When x=1 the sum of the coefficients becomes 0.

So, the equation becomes x^{2} - 2x +1

So the sum of roots is 2
