An analogy would be a kid on a swing. The more the kid "pumps", the more energy the swinging has. This increased amplitude stresses glass to the breaking point. Resonance.

"Refraction", "Dissipation", and "Insulation" do not imply increase in total energy in the system.

The energy reverberate in the glass getting stronger and stronger because of the frequency being generated. The glass will eventually give because it can't maintain it's structure and break
