A house has a rectangular yard in front of it for children to play.

The length of the rectangle exceeds its width by 6 m and its perimeter is 60 m.

The rate of levelling the yard is Rs 1.5 per sq. m.

Find the total cost of levelling the yard.

$P = 2(W + L) = 2(W + W + 6) = 60 m$

$4W + 12 = 60 m$

$W = 12 m$

$L = W + 6 = 12 + 6 = 18 m$

$\text {Area } = W × L = 12 × 18 = 216 m^2$

$\text {Total cost } = 216 × 1.5 = \boxed { 324 \text { Rs} }$
