Count it!

How many 4 digit even numbers can be formed using the numbers 2,3,5,8,9?

Note: The same number can repeat. For example, 2222 must also be counted

2359 100 200 250

The first 3 digits could be any of the 5, meaning there are 5 possibilities for each of them. However, for the number to be even, the last digit must be even, meaning that we can choose either 2 or 8, meaning that there are 2 possibilities. So the total amount of numbers is 5 5 5 2 = 250 5*5*5*2 = 250

N = (5)(5)(5)(2) = 250

So, 555*2 = 1110 Am I right?
