Currency notes - Part 2

Number Theory Level pending

While purchasing a gift last Christmas, I paid a few 1000-rupee notes. The shopkeeper gave me some 50-rupee notes as balance. He mentioned that the Xmas discount was 20% on the tag price. The currency notes I gave him had consecutive serial numbers from A to B, and the ones he gave me had consecutive serial numbers from C to D.
I observed the following:
(i) A and B leave the same remainder when divided by 6.
(ii) C is the largest 6-digit multiple of 5 of the form 2987xx and D is the next odd multiple of 6.
What was the tag price of the gift?

The answer is 8000.
