Current Drawn from Outlet

A purely resistive load individually draws a current with an RMS magnitude of 1 amp from a wall outlet. A purely inductive load individually draws a current with an RMS magnitude of 1 amp from the same wall outlet.

If both loads are connected in parallel to the outlet, what is the RMS magnitude of the aggregate load current?

Assume: The outlet voltage magnitude is constant, regardless of what load is connected

The answer is 1.4142.
