The number must be at least 4 digits. Making a table of squares starting with 3 2 2 = 1024 32^{2}=1024 it doesn't take long to arrive at 3 7 2 = 1369 37^{2}=1369 which is the concatenation of 1 = 1 2 1=1^{2} , 36 = 6 2 36=6^{2} , and 9 = 3 2 9=3^{2} .
