Deck of Cards

What is the chance of you getting four of spades in a 52-card deck? If the answer is in the form of a b \frac{a}{b} , what is a + b a+b ?

The answer is 53.

There is only one 4 of spades in a 52-card deck. Thus, the probability of getting it is 1/52. Therefore, a + b = 1 + 52 = 53 a+b=1+52=\boxed{53} .

oh my gosh. i misread this and was solving for 4 of the same suit. not specifically the 4 of spades. UUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
