Just using the power rule we can take the derivative of 3 x 5 3x^{5} to be 5 3 x 5 1 = 15 x 4 5*3x^{5-1} = 15x^{4}

The easy way to solve for the derivative to this function(or almost every other) is to simply take the exponent,5, and multiply that to the coefficient,3. Then you just decrease the exponent by one so: 5*3x^(5-1) which finally turns out to be 15x^4. The derivative represents the slope of a given point on a function, if you want to learn more and other ways to solve, please visit Khan Academy at this link: https://www.khanacademy.org/math/differential-calculus/taking-derivatives

Apply the rule: a x n = a n x n 1 ax^{n} = anx^{n-1} \square
