xy=A _ (1)
(x-2)(y-4)=18 _ (2)
xy-4x-2y+8=18
xy-2y-4x=10
y(x-2)=10+4x
y=(10+4x)/ (x-2)
put y=(10+4x)/(x-2) into 1
(10x+4x²)/(x-2)=A
dA/DX=(x-2)(10+8x)-(10x+4x²)/(x-2)²=0
10x+8x²-20-16x-10x-4x²=0
4x²-16x-20=0
x²-4x-5=0
x=5,x=-1
put x=5 into 2
3y-12=18
3y=30
y=10.
