1% of 400 is= 400 100 \frac {400}{100} = 4 4

so,30% of 400 is= 30 × 4 30 \times 4 = 120 120

so. the price will be = 400 120 400-120 = 280 280 $

Its really easy!

Sale price = regular price – discount = 400 400 0.3 ( 400 ) 0.3(400) = $ 280 \$280

The price Marvin should pay is,

400 400 ( 0.3 ) = 280 400 - 400(0.3)=\boxed{280}
