100 × 0.8 = 80 80 × 0.9 = 72 100 \times 0.8 = 80 \\ 80 \times 0.9 = 72

Therefore the item is now at 72 % 72 \% of its original price i.e ( 100 72 ) % = 28 % (100-72) \%=\large \color{#20A900}{\boxed{28 \%}} discount.

100 * 20/100 = 20
100 - 20 = 80 * 10/100 = 8
there fore total discount = 20 + 8 = 28%

the price of the item was $100. 20% of 100 would be 100-20 which is 80. Then, taking a further 10% off of 80 would be 80-8 which is 72. 100-72 is 28%.

A = Artículo (A - 20%A) - 10% (A - 20%A) = A - 20%A - 10%A + 200/10000A = A - (20% + 10% - 2%)A = A - 28%A Entonces el descuento final fué 28%

We can assum that An Item as 100%,

1st Discount 20% --> 80%

2nd Discount 10% --> 90%, so solution as below:

= 100% - 80% * 90%

= 100% - 72%
