There is an easy trick for dividing numbers by 11:

17734 / 11 = 1 - 7 + 7 - 3 + 4 = 2 . Therefore, the remainder when 17734 is divided by 11, is 2.

If it ends up 0, your numbers divisible by 11.

We know this is true, because lets take numbers like 77 and 132, that we already know are divisible by 11:

7 - 7 = 0

1 - 3 + 2 = 0

Therefore our answer is 2 .
