Algebra Level 2

The number 45 is divided into four parts such that when 2 is added to the first part , 2 is subtracted from the second part , 2 is multiplied by the third part and the fourth part is divided by 2,all the four results are equal to the same number "x"

Take a + b + c + d = 45 a+2=b-2=2c=d/2x Solve for each letter in terms of a and you get: a + a+4 + a/2 +1 + 2a +4 Collect terms and solve for a (=8), add 2 as a+2=x and you get x=10

substitute the above values a,b,c,d in equation (1) then we get x=10
