Shakeel wants to spend all his money on sweets. He has enough to buy three small laddus. With the same amount, however, he can buy two large laddus, each of which is 60% larger than a small laddu. What would you advise him to do?

Don't worry, we Brilliantians use only one grammer - MATHEMATICS! ;)
hahaha.... you can base your answer by just looking at what percentage a small one to the larger one... 60% of small is already 1.6 of its size... two of it is 3.2...hahaha... its easier i think..
it's ok..:)
wow nmn, talino tlaga ni william, clasm8 q yan
let each small laddu be 100gms,for 3 laddus 300gms.now 60% for each laddu is 160*2=320.so i suggest large laddus

2 large laddus = 3.20 (2 X 1.60) in size as compare to 3 small laddus
ok lang Pilipino din naman ako eh
Language is medium via which we make people understand our thoughts & u can.
it is easy. let one small laddu cost 100 rs . totl of three laddu have 300rs . but large laddu is 60% more than small laddu . so cost of large laddu 320 rs.
how could 3x exist man?????????
Log in to reply
3x denoting 3 small laddu... and large ladu = x+.6*x , Then buying 2 large laddu = 2x +1.2x = 3.2x > 3x ... then buying 2 large is good ... Am i coorrect ? :))))
Let one small laddu weight is 1kg, then weight of 3 laddus which he can buy only of 3 kg ...but when he buy two big laddus then total weight he get is of 3.2 kg instead of 3 kg because weight of one small laddu(1kg)=1.6 kg of big laddu. so total weight he get on buying two big laddus is 3.2 kg while on buying 3 small ladddus he get only 3kg .
right
3.2kgddu is more benefecial than 3kg- so big la
let "x" the small laddus since he can buy 3, we can say that 3x for the small ladus
then "x+0.6x" for the larger laddus. since he can buy 2, we can say that 2(x+0.6x) or 3.2x for larger laddus which is bigger than 3x from smaller laddus
not understood
the large laddus are 1.6 times the small laddus. (X) i.e.: large Laddus = 1.6X so comparing if 3X > or< 2 (1.6X) 3X < 3.2X
Hence Buysing the large Laddus are profitable.
Let 'y' be small laddus each of 100gm According to condition, 60% increase in size= 100+60%of 100=160 In this way, for 2 large laddus, we get 2 x 160=320gm of laddus which infact is larger in size and weight than the laddus of 100 x 3=300gm...
3s - 3 small laddus
2l - 2 large laddus
Let : 1s = 100g
1l = 100 + 100*60/100 = 160g
2l = 320g
3s = 300g
2l > 3s (In weight)
If a large laddu is 160 percent of a small laddu,2 large laddus are 320 percent of one small laddu.3 small laddus are 300 percent of one small laddu,so we can compare that 300%<320% therefore the large laddus are the better deal.
small laddus=x
large laddus=y=60% more than small =1.6 small
y=1.6x 2y=3.2x
so 2 large laddus = 3.2 small laddus
let we predict that that 1 laddu contains 30kgs.
if we will going to buy 3 laddus, we can have atleast 90 kgs. However, if the larger laddu contains 6o% more than the small laddu, then it would be 2[SL + (SL*60/100)] since we can have 2 pieces of larger laddus. Then the result would be 96 kgs. which is higher than the three small laddus.
2 large laddus will have 120% extra, which will be one more small laddu and 20% extra laddu
60 percent can be expressed as .6 , so a larger laddu (yum) is 1.6x or 160 percent of the smaller laddus ( denoted x). We have two large laddus, so 2(1.6 x) = 3.2x . The three smaller laddus are expressed as 3x and since 3.2x > 3x, the best choice is the larger laddus.
let small laddus are 3x big laddus are 2X here X=x+0.6x =>X=1.6x so,big laddus=2*1.6x=3.2x so,i prefer big laddus
2 large laddus > 3small laddus
1 small ladoo let 100 kg then 3 will be of 300 kg now according to the question 1 large ladoo will be of 160 kg then 2 large ladoo will be of 320 kg.
Let small one be 100%
3x 100% = 300%
Let large one be 100+60%
2x 160% = 320%.
3 small ladus lets say is 100% then -33% because you are making it 2(because you subtracted 1/3) then ad 2x60% because both laddus are getting bigger by 60% you will end up with 187% which is 87% more than the small laddus so buy the big ones
Pretend that the smallest laddus are each 30% laddus. Three 30% laddus are 90% of laddu.
Since the two largest laddus are 60% bigger than the smaller laddus, we add 60% of 30 to 30. That gives us 48.
We add 48 + 48 = 96%. 96% is more than 90%. Therefore, the two larger laddus are the better deal.
Simple, As Larger Laddus are 60% larger than Small . Hence, Buying Larger Laddus will be profitable to shakeel
He can eat many by buying 2 large laddus than the 3 small laddus. As simple as that.
The small laddus = 3. Each one of the 2 large laddus is 60% larger. 60% x 2 = 120%. So, the large laddus = 3,2.
its very simple 3 small laddus< 2 large laddus but in same rupees
Let one small laddu weight is 1kg, then weight of 3 laddus which he can buy only of 3 kg ...but when he buy two big laddus then total weight he get is of 3.2 kg instead of 3 kg because weight of one small laddu(1kg)=1.6 kg of big laddu. so total weight he get on buying two big laddus is 3.2 kg while on buying 3 small ladddus he get only 3kg .
nothingchhfchdhgfxdgfxdcv
let one small laddu weight 100g then 3 small laddu weight 300g 1 large laddu weight 160g 3 large laddu weight 160*2=320g so he should buy 2 large laddus.
1 big laddu = (1 small + 0.6 small )laddu
so 2 big laddu makes = 2 small + 1.2 small laddu which makes 3 small and 0.2 more i hope this is the answer of the question
let small laddu be 100gms then the big one will be more 60% that is 160gms if you buy 2 big laddus you will have 320gms if you buy 3 small laddus with same amount you will have 300gms
let the small laddus be 100%and large laddus be100+60%=160%. three small laddus be 300%and two large laddus be 320% 320>300%. So he can buy large laddus.
60% on one means 120% on two large laddus. So on two large laddus he will get 120% extra with two smal laddus so we may say that he'll get 3 small laddus and 20% more when he buys two large laddus.
x/3 = 0.53x
buy all small ladus = x/3 + x/3 + x/3 = x
buy all big laddus = 0.53x plus 0.53x = 1.068x
1.068x > x, therefore buy all big laddus
If one small laddu consist= x gm the three laddu=3 x gm and two big laddu consist=2[x+(x 60)/100]=3.2x > 3x so to buy two big laddu is better option.
Let the small laddus be 100 units of volume (take your pick: litres, cc, whatever). Hence, 3 small laddus would amount to 300 units.
A 60% increase would mean that each larger laddu is now 160 units of volume. 2 large laddus: 160+160 = 320 units.
You get 20 more units of volume with the larger laddus
Obviously, we desire big one. Two large laddus is greater than three small laddus.
LET SMALL LADDU IS 100 GRAM THAN BIG ONE IS 160 GRAM, SO 3 SMALL IS 3 100= 300 GRAM, BIG 2 ARE 2 160= 320 GRAM SO BIG TWO ARE CORRECT......
3 small laddus are smaller than 2 large laddus which are equal to 2*1.6s = 3.2s i.e. 3.2 small laddus.So 2 large laddus are preferred.
if one laddu is 100 times large in size then three laddus should be 300 times large in size.and one big laddu should be 60 times greater than small laddu.....so 2 laddus are 320 times large in size but small laddus are 300 times are large in size.so he should buy 2 large laddus
let the volume of one small laddu as 'x'... then the volume of large laddu becomes 1.6x... so two large laddus has a volume of 3.2 x whereas 3 small laddus has 3x...
let, each small laddu is 1 gm 60% of 3 small laddu is 1.8 gm he can get .8gm laddu more than small laddu
x=.60y then, 3y=1.8x,therefore 2x>3y
let y be the small laddu, so with the same amount of money he can buy either 3y or 2 (1.6y) which is 3.2 y, so to get the large laddus he will have 20% more than buying the small ones.
total amount of money is x.
we can buy 3 small laddoos with x. also, we can buy 2 larger laddoos which is 60% bigger than the small ones.
here, size of 1 larger laddoo is:
3*60/100=1.8, means, it is greater than 3 ladoos(1.8+1.8=3.6).
Hence, buying two larger ladoos is profitable.
(y)
quite and easy problem.
Why is the size of the larger laddoo equal to 1.8?
you wrong girl, by buying larger laddu we could have 0.2 more laddu than buying small laddu

let "x" the small laddus since he can buy 3, we can say that 3x for the small ladus

sorry for wrong grammar :)
