why would you subtract 45 from 67
Lolness it is! 12 already + 67 more -45 that left equals 34...which is 22 more than 12!
You'll have to add 67 and 12, which is 79. 79-45=34. Then 34-12=22
I added 12 and 67 and got 79, then i subtracted 45 from 79 and got 34. since it asked how many MORE cars were in the garage i subtracted 12 from 34 and got 22.
thank u for your well explained answer
At 8am there were 12 cars at the parking garage.
Between an eight hour period, the attendant noticed that 67 cars entered the garage.
Thus, at 4pm , at a particular instant, there were a total of 6 7 + 1 2 = 7 9 c a r s
But during the eight hours period, 45cars left the garage .
i.e. the total number of cars remaining in the garage at 4pm equals 7 9 − 4 5 = 3 4
Hence there were 3 4 − 1 2 = 2 2 c a r s more in the garage at 4pm than at 8am.
given in the problem: at 8am, number of cars=12 over the next 8 hours, total cars that left=45 total cars that entered=67
solution: the number of cars more are, 67-45 =22
