x = Furthest distance, in miles
1 = Amount of tread per tire, or amount of usable tire material per tire

Then,

(x)(1 / 22,000) + (x)(1 / 22,000) + (x)(1 / 18,000) + (x)(1 / 18,000) = 5

--- Simplify ---

x = 24,750 miles
