DROP A BALL

A ball is dropped from a height of 144 m and it rebounds to two-thirds of the height from which it falls. If it continues to fall and rebound this way, how far will it travel totally before coming to rest?

720m 640m 800m 480m

Infinite geometric series 144 + 144(2/3) +144(2/3) + 144(2/3)² + 144(2/3)²+.... = 2 (144+144(2/3) + 144(2/3)² + ...) -144 = 2 ( 144/(1/3)) -144 = 5 * 144 = 720 m :)

use the formula e{co-eff of restitution}=under root h2/h1 then total distance traversed=h[1+e2/1-e2]
