What some guys would think is that half the pond would be covered in half the time , so,they write 48 2 \Large\frac {48}{2} = 24 24 .


But in this process the exponential growth of the lily pads. So, we try working it from the back. if the pond is fully covered after 48 48 days, and they double in size daily, on the 4 7 t h 47^{th} , it would be half covered. The correct answer is 47 47 days.
