Let us assume you and your friend are playing a game of chess. You both are dummies, and do not realise the exponential power of chess moves. You and you friend decide to try out every possible "first" move (a move consists of both players turns). Assuming a new Universe is created for every possible move as per quantum physics. How many possible universes are created during the time of the experiment?

Number of possible move for white =20(8 pawns ;taking one step +8 pawns; taking two steps at the start+one knight coming out in 2 ways+another knight coming out in 2 way) and same no of moves are possible for black. For each move of white there are 20 possible moves for black. As there are 20 moves possible for white , the total number of MOVES (according to question) is 20*20=400. (this is a simple sum for those who know 11std probability)
