From given info, ratio of speed is 4:3. So ratio of time taken to cover equal distances is 3:4.
So, while going upstream, speed is 6mph, downstream 8mph. Let speed of boat be x and that of river be y.
x+y =8, x-y =6. Solving simultaneously, we get y =1.0mph
