( − 2 ) 2 = 4 (-2)^2=4

− 2 2 = − ( 2 2 ) = − 4 -2^2=-(2^2)=-4

− 2 2 = − 4 < 4 = ( − 2 ) 2 -2^2=-4<4=\boxed{(-2)^2}
