The probability of drawing out a red marble first is 4 / 9 (Favorable outcomes divided by possible outcomes), and the probability of drawing a green marble after a red is 5 / 8 , so to get the probability of drawing first a red, then a green, we just multiply the two probabilities to get 5 / 1 8 .
