Easy flux!

What is the flux density of a magnetic field whose flux is 3000 µWb and cross-sectional area is 0.25 m 2 0.25 m^2 ?

12000 µT 83330 µT 12000.0341 µT 12001 µT

Flux linkage is equal to flux density multiplied by the area:

λ = B A \lambda = B A

The Weber is a unit of flux linkage ( λ ) (\lambda) , and the Tesla is a unit of flux density ( B ) (B) . Plugging in numbers:

3000 × 1 0 6 = B ( 0.25 ) B = 12000 × 1 0 6 = 12000 μ T 3000 \times 10^{-6} = B (0.25) \\ B = 12000 \times 10^{-6} = 12000 \mu T
