The equation factors as ( x 1 ) ( x 2 ) ( x 2 + x + 1 ) (x-1)(x-2)(x^2 + x + 1)

The quadratic is irreducible and has no real roots. So the only two real roots are 1 and 2. 1+ 2 = 3 3 .
