Eating partridges

Logic Level 1

Another Spanish enigma in verse. My mother used to tell to me so:

El boticario y su hija

El médico y su mujer

Comieron nueve perdices

Todos tocaron a tres

Which translates as

The apothecary and his daughter

The doctor and his wife

They ate nine partridges

And each one had three

How is it possible?

One of them is a ghost Two of them are the same person The partridges reproduce themselves, even cooked The daughter of the apothecary did not eat Three of them are the same person
