Einstein's dream

Little Einstein is being chased by his history teacher. To escape her, he rides his bike at the speed of 3 c 5 \frac{3c}{5} . If his rest mass is 40 kg 40 \text{kg} , find his relativistic mass (in kg \text{kg} ).

Clarification : c c denotes the speed of light in vacuum.

The answer is 50.

From Special Theory of Relativity,

m r = m 0 1 ( v c ) 2 \large{ m }_{ r }^{ }=\frac { { m }_{ 0 }^{ } }{ \sqrt { 1-{ \left( \frac { v }{ c } \right) }^{ 2 } } } , where m r { m }_{ r } is the relativistic mass, m 0 { m }_{ 0 } is the rest mass and v v is the speed of the system.

m r = m 0 1 ( 3 c 5 c ) 2 \large{ m }_{ r }^{ }=\frac { { m }_{ 0 }^{ } }{ \sqrt { 1-{ \left( \frac { \frac { 3c }{ 5 } }{ c } \right) }^{ 2 } } } or m r = 5 m 0 4 \large{ m }_{ r }^{ }=\frac { { 5m }_{ 0 }^{ } }{ 4 } .

This gives the relativistic mass of Einstein as 50 kg 50\text{kg} .

I love his theory of relativity, although it's a theory not proved yet but it's amazing.

This is actually a historical blunder because there is nothing known as relativistic mass and there is only rest mass. Einstein knew this fact
