Electric Rotation

A point particle of mass M M is attached to one end of a massless rigid non conducting rod of length L L another point particle of same mass is attached to another end of rod.The two particles carry charge + q +q and q -q .this arrangement is held in a uniform electric field E E such that rod makes a small angle (say of about 5 degrees) with the field direction. The minimum time required for the rod to become parallel to the electric field after it is set free is T T . Assume the space is gravity free.

If T T can be written as T = ( β π α M L γ q E ) δ T = \left(\dfrac {\beta \pi^\alpha ML}{\gamma qE} \right)^\delta , find α + β + γ + δ \alpha + \beta + \gamma +\delta .

Details:

  1. α \alpha , β \beta , γ \gamma , δ \delta are rational numbers (some may be integers).
  2. β \beta and γ \gamma are in their simplest form.
  3. α \alpha and δ \delta are in their simplest form.
  4. The expression is raised to the power δ \delta .
  5. It is π π raised to the power α \alpha .

Problem taken from IITJEE 1989.
