Energy E used by an appliance Is given by E = P t in J , where P is the power rating in W of the appliance and t is the time in s the appliance is switched on.
Therefore,
E T V = 2 5 0 × 6 0 × 6 0 = 9 0 0 0 0 0 J = 9 0 0 k J
E t o a s t e r = 1 2 0 0 × 1 0 × 6 0 = 7 2 0 0 0 0 J = 7 2 0 k J
Therefore, T V uses more energy.
tv power=250 w(1h) toaster power=1200/6 ....=250j tv consumes 250, while toaster consumes 200

We have the following :-
Power of the TV : 250 W
Time for which the TV is used : 1 hour
Energy Expelled E = P × t = 2 5 0 × 1 = 2 5 0 J
Power of the Toaster : 1200 W
Time for which the Toaster is used : 10 minutes = 1/6 th of an hour
Energy Expelled E = P × t = 1 2 0 0 × 1 / 6 = 2 0 0 J
Hence T V
