Electronegativity

Chemistry Level pending

Electronegativity, symbol χ, is a chemical property that describes the tendency of an atom or a functional group to attract electrons (or electron density) towards itself. The above are the electronegativities and atomic and ionic radii of the four elements A, B, C and D with period 2 , 2, which are Be, F, N and O. (not necessarily in this order) Which of the following statements is correct?

Line (X) shows atomic radii. (X) of element B is bigger than (Y) of element B since the former has more electron shells. Line (Y) shows ionic radii. Element C is O.
