Let F F be a point such that E F EF is parallel to B C BC . Let G G be the intersection of C D CD and B E BE . It is obvious that F E G FEG is similar to B C F BCF . Thus angle x x is 90 70 90-70 degrees, or 20 \boxed{20} .

What I'm saying is that you have to draw a point F F to the left of the triangle and then everything just fits into place. :D
