A capacitor ( C = 3 F ) (C = 3 F) and an inductor ( L = 2 H ) (L = 2 H) are connected in series with a switch. The switch is initially open, and closes at time ( t = 0 ) (t = 0) . Prior to closing, the capacitor is charged to 10 V 10 V , and there is no current through the inductor.

As time progresses after the switch closes, what is the maximum instantaneous current through the inductor (in amps)?

The answer is 12.247.

This is the case of LC oscillation First evaluate the resonant angular frequency, Then using it find the inductive resistance and then use the formula = V /(inductive resistance) Here V is peak voltage
