Entropy Of Mixing? Or Mixing Of Subjects?

Chemistry Level 3

Find the entropy of mixing when x grams x \space \text{grams} of sulphur is mixed with y grams y \space \text{grams} of carbon.

Here

Magnitude of x x is the sum of all the coefficients in the binomial expansion of ( 1 + n ) 5 (1+n)^{5}

and Magnitude of y y is the velocity of the Center of mass of a solid sphere after it starts pure rolling given that it was initially thrown with velocity v o = 84 m / s v_{o}=84 m/s .

If S S is the entropy of mixing in c a l K 1 m o l 1 cal K^{-1} mol^{-1} find the value of S \lfloor S \rfloor

Details and Assumptions

  • Take R = 2 cal mol 1 K 1 R=2 \text{cal} \space \text{mol}^{-1} \space \text{K}^{-1}

Try out my set Physical Chemistry For JEE Aspirants!

As this is made for JEE Aspirants and the JEE Aspirants should know all the three subjects well, This question is given such that the concepts of all the subjects are required, Sorry for that :P, but the concepts are most basic

The answer is 9.
