the area of an equilateral triangle with side x is given by [ s q r t 3 / 4 ] x 2 [sqrt{3}/4] *x^2 ........{proportional to x^2} hence we see that when side is increased 9 times the area increases by 81 times(the square of 9).

Equalateral trianles all sises when increased by 9 times,considering area of trianle as 1/2 base X height . base and height will increase by 9 times, so area will increase 9 X9 =81 times. K.K.GARG,India
