Basically what I did was counted the no. Of H H atoms (here were 8 8 ) while the same equivalent saturated compound with 10 10 carbon atoms would have 22 H 22 H . Hence degree of unsaturation: 22 − 8 2 = 7 \dfrac{22-8}{2}=\boxed 7 . :-)
