A B C ABC is an isosceles triangle with sides A B = A C = 5 AB=AC=5 . D D is a point in between B B and C C such that B D = 2 BD=2 and D C = 4.5 DC=4.5 . Find the length of A D AD .


The answer is 3.

I had constructed this triangle. So the points I got were A(3.2,3.8); B(0,0); C(6.5,0) & D(2,0). So, from this it will be concluded as AD=3.8≈4. But you asked the answer as integer, therefore the answer is 3.
