Let the milkman buys x litres of milk. Since, CP=Rs100/l Total CP=Rs100x

Let he adds y litres of milk. Total amount of solution=(x+y)l

Since,MP=Rs90/l Total MP=Rs90(x+y)

Since discount=10% SP=90% of Rs90(x+y) =Rs81(x+y)

According to the question, 120% of 100x=81(x+y) 120x=81x+81y 39x=81y y/x=39/81=13/27 therefore,ratio of water in the solution=13/27

Confusing wording...I thought 90 was the discounted price.mp and sp ?
