There are 720 Brilliant students who are working on this problem. One third of them are girls and the remainder are boys. If three-fifth of the girls are really excited to work on this problem and one-half of the boys are really excited to work on this problem, how many students are really excited to work on this problem?

Total students = 720

out of them girls are = (1/3)th = [720 x 1/3] = 240 girls.

out of the total students no.of boys are = [720 - 240 = 480]

really excited students are = {[240 x 3/5] + [480 x 1(1/2)]} = (144 + 240)students

= 384 students

divide all 720 students into boys and girl as shown below thus we obtain 1/3.720 = 240 girls and the remaining 720-240 = 480 are boys and so for the excited students 3/5.240 = 144 girls and 1/2.480 = 240 boys afterwards add up the result 240+144 = 384 students ^_^

first,mutiply the one third of girls to 720 students to find the percentage,and then your anwer will be 240,and the rest are 480 boys,and in the given there are three fifth of the girls that are really excited,then multiply again to find the percentage,and the product is 144,then there are 480 and there are 1 half of them are really excited and multiply the 1half to 480 and your answer will be 240,and then the last thing is to add up 3 fifth of the girls to the 1half of boys to find the overall number of students that was really excited.240+144=384-FINAL ANSWER.

It is said that out of 720 students, 1 3 \frac{1}{3} rd are girls and rest are boys. Also, 1 2 \frac{1}{2} th of the boys and 3 5 \frac{3}{5} th of the girls are excited to solve the problem.

No. of girls = 1 3 × 720 = 240 =\frac{1}{3}\times 720 = 240 and no. of boys= 720-240=480

No. of excited boys = 1 2 × 480 = 240 =\frac{1}{2}\times 480 = 240 and no. of excited girls = 3 5 × 240 = 3 × 48 = 144 =\frac{3}{5}\times 240 = 3\times 48 = 144

So, total no. of excited students = 240 + 144 = 384 =240+144 = \boxed{384}

jumlah gadis : 1/3 x 720 = 240 gadis, dan jumlah laki-laki : 720 - 240 = 480 laki - laki. Jumlah gadis yang bekerja keras : 3/5 x 240 = 144 gadis, dan jumlah laki - laki yang kerja keras : 1/2 x 480 = 240 laki - laki. Maka jumlah pelajar yang kerja keras = 144 gadis + 240 laki - laki = 384 pelajar.

First you find out what is 1/3 of 720, which would be the girls. This would tell you that theirs 240 girl. Then it says the rest are boys, which equal to 2/3 or 480 boys. It says that 3/5's of the 240 girl are excited, which equals 144. Then they said half of the 480 boys are excited, which is 240 of them. Last it says how many of them are excited, which equals up to 384.
