Why did Rutherford use gold in his alpha scattering experiment?

He wanted to show how rich he is Because of its electrical conductivity Because of its thermal conductivity Because of its high ductility Because of its lustre All of the above Because of its very high malleability None of the above

Rutherford required very thin sheet and gold is the most malleable metal making it a perfect choice. The gold foil used was about 1000 atoms thick.
