Let X and Y be positive integers such that 43/197 < X/Y < 17/77.

Find the sum of the 5 smallest possible values of Y.


The answer is 246.

I refer you to the Eddie the Head’s solution of “Alpha and Beta ” problem.

Then continue by substituting these values for gamma: 5, 6, 7, 8, and we get the 5 lowest values for Beta to be 32, 41, 50, 59, and 64. Therefore the sum of the 5 lowest values for Beta = 246
