For any prime number p p , since it contains only p p and 1 1 as the divisors, the sum of the divisors must be p + 1 p + 1 . Thus, since 5 5 is prime, we have 5 + 1 = 6 5 + 1 = \boxed{6} , which is less than 7.

I think in this problem, that it is not said to extrapolate the pattern of the data:)

5 is a prime number. That means it has only 2 divisors. Which is 1 and itself

Hence sum of all the positive divisors of 5 is 1 + 5 = 6 1 + 5 = 6 . Which is less than 7
