72=2x2x2x3x3 so there are 5 facters

gokul nath, I also think so. when we consider that there are 2 prime factors, then prime factor number of 6 and 72 will be equal. Is it? But the matter is brilliant says that there are 2 prime factors!! so I want to hair from brilliant! And also from others who think it 2!

By prime factors we mean that the factors of a numbers which are prime.In 72,2 and 3 are prime numbers and factors and so we say that there are 2 prime factors.If the question asked factors of 72,then we would have said 5 factors.
